Tessa Jowell welcomes IOC report

14 June 2007

Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell welcomes the report of the International Olympic Committee

"The IOC have spent the last three days examining in detail London's achievements so far, and our plans for the next five years and beyond.  They are the experts and this is a real vote of confidence in the work done by the Organising Committee, the Olympic Delivery Authority and across Government.

“Their report is a timely endorsement of the foundations and detailed planning we have put in place for the next five years, delivery going according to plan, our vision being turned into reality and all the 2012 stakeholders working together to put on the best Games ever.

"This morning I updated the Cabinet on the considerable progress made and the positive verdict from the IOC team. But there is not a moment to waste and I am determined to maintain our momentum."
