Consultation on draft regulations for museums on the publication of information about cultural objects on loan under Part 6 of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007

DCMS is seeking comments on the content of draft regulations for museums on the publication of information about cultural objects they intend to borrow from abroad for temporary exhibitions and which will be immune from seizure under Part 6 of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007

The consultation also invites views on how far in advance museums should be required to publish information about such objects.

The consultation will enable the Government to take into account the views of museums and galleries, the art trade, shippers and others who have an interest in this issue.  It is possible that there will be a divergence of views received and the Government will have to balance these against the best interests of the UK as a whole.  But it is important for interested parties to be able to express their views and concerns in an open consultation.
