The Act allows for two kinds of conditions to be attached to premises licences by the Secretary of State by means of regulations: mandatory conditions and default conditions. This consultation document explains the Government’s approach to setting these mandatory and default conditions. It also reflects the responses to an informal consultation exercise which was undertaken earlier this year.
The Consultation Document, together with the accompanying draft Impact Assessment and the draft Regulations, which will follow shortly, are the subjects of this consultation exercise. We anticipate that they will be of particular interest to:
- existing operators in the gambling industry;
- potential new operators in the gambling industry; and
- organisations with an interest in problem gambling.
