Establishing the Legal Deposit Advisory Panel - Consultation Document

The purpose of this consultation is to elicit views on the proposals relating to the constitution of the Legal Deposit Advisory Panel, in particular the terms of reference and panel membership.

This consultation ended on 16 February 2005.

The summary of responses is now available online

The primary purpose of the panel will be to advise the Secretary of State on the timing and content of Regulations relating to legal deposit.  The aim is to create a panel that has an understanding of the wide range of issues arising out of the legal deposit of non-print material, and can provide fair and balanced advice on the incremental implementation of the Legal Deposit Libraries Act 2003.  The Department is now seeking your views on these proposals.
