Dear Sir/ Madam, The BBC as is now is remains a cultural, educational and entertainment resource which adheres still to it's Reithian ideals and goals. There is no alternative provided to me commercially which can even come close to touching what the BBC provides. I do appreciate that the Hutton enquiry threw up some issues which needed to be addressed. Even in spite of this, the fact is that I trust the BBC to self regulate and to remedy the faults, if there were any, and to move on. The Licence fee, for Radio alone is worthwhile. The BBC proves time and time again that it remains in touch wth the needs of the country and licence fee payers. I would find it difficult to single out one of the BBC's attributes be it Radio or it's unrivalled web services, for praise and surely that is the mark of the complete Public Service broadcaster. I can take issue with a lot of the programming the BBC provide with regard to my particular taste, however there is much, much more for which I am grateful and with which I am more than satisfied. Most importantly I value the BBC's impartiality in a multi-cultural society in which I live, where to intelligently state " I am right and you are wrong" becomes more and more a fools game. My fear is that should it's royal charter and the basis upon which that charter exists be altered, both the countryand myself would lose the ability to be guided to make our own evaluations and judgements from the variety of perspectives provided by the BBC. Please leave the BBC as it is, a national emblem of our fair -mindedness, tolerance and openess to all thought and ideas. Yours sincerely Chris Wright
