I have limited my comments thusfar to the BBC output on DTT as it is the service we receive, although we have previously received the Sky DSat service. An audit of our viewing habits showed us that the 'big 5' and BBC digital channels were all we were watching and therefore it was decided to migrate to the DTT platform whcih offered all these channels without a charge. I wish to make it very clear that the BBC's digital television services played a major part in our take up of DTT and have made it our preferred digital platform. Certain BBC shows and channels, Little Britain (BBC3), Nighty Night (BBC3), The World (BBC 4), BBC Parliament & News 24 have developed "must watch" status in our home. The BBC's use of the 701-703 interactive channels has added a much needed element or 'near interactivity' to the platform - moving the audience closer to having a pre-emptive role in their viewing. My only regret is that current technical limitations on the DTT platform prevent the full screen broadcast of BBC Parliament and that BBCs 3 & 4 cannot be broadcast during the day time, even if the output were 'looped' throughout the day. There is a clear distinction in the quality of the BBC's digital output at that of many commercial digital broadcasters. The content quality of channels such as Sky Travel, ftn, Bid-Up.tv and the other shopping channels is shockingly poor and would have been unable to persuade me to join the DTT platform. Martin Hoscik
