I live in Ironbridge, Shropshire. BBC television is constantly reminding me about the services available on BBC 3 et al. The frustration here is that I cannot receive a digital terrestrial signal but I do not wish to subscribe to the services offered by Sky. The analogue signal within the Ironbridge Gorge is transmitted from a booster mast located in Jackfield which serves only a small community. My fear is that the size of population will make it uneconomic to upgrade the transmitter ( I have also heard that the number of transmitters is already at saturation point and that further transmissions will interfere with existing signals) and that the area will be disenfranchised.
