Dear Sirs I sm thoroughly fed-up with bombarded on a daily basis by the BBC advertising their Digital Television Service inbetween programmes. I fail to see why the average licence payer should have to pay for these extra channels, if people wish to view them then they should pay extra. As for the licence fee, I find it archaicic that we have to pay to watch television. Surely the BBC generates enough income from sales of its programmes, services, books, videos, etc? It's about time the BBC stood on its own feet and paid for itself, instead of "taxing" every householder to watch the television whether or not they choose to watch the BBC. adey allison
