Welcome to Community Support Programme Home Page

Community Support Programme (CSP) is a UK Government's Department for International Development's (DFID) managed programme. The programme started on January 2003 to provide funding support to poor, marginalized, excluded, and conflict-affected communities to address their immediate livelihood issues.

The major initiatives funded include school buildings, irrigation, drinking water schemes, improved cooking stoves, foot bridges, improved water mills, income-generating activities, skills development training, culvert construction, river embankment protection and so on. In short, CSP addresses the three important objectives of DFID. Those are basic services, growth for the rural poor, and social inclusion as stipulated in Country Assistance Plan.
