Laurence Elks’ partner owns 336 shares in J Sainsbury
plc. Neither Mr Elks, nor the CC, believes that this matter
will prejudice the ability of the Group to discharge its functions
in an independent and impartial manner.
Alexander Johnston owns 1196 shares in J Sainsbury plc shares
and 744 shares in Tesco. Neither Mr Johnston, nor the CC,
believes that this matter will prejudice the ability of the
Group to discharge its functions in an independent and impartial
manner.
Staff interests:
Steve Brown, a member of staff working on this inquiry, was
formerly employed by ORC International, where he undertook
customer loyalty and customer satisfaction research for Sainsbury's
(between June 2002 and July 2004). The CC is satisfied that
this will not affect the independent and impartial conduct
of the inquiry.
