Members’ interests:
Diana Guy, Chair of this Inquiry, has a sole or joint interest
in approximately 20,000 shares in Tesco. Neither Mrs Guy,
nor the CC, believes that this matter will prejudice the ability
of the Group to discharge its functions in an independent
and impartial manner.
Diane Coyle, a member of the group conducting this inquiry,
has a contract to write an economics textbook with Princeton
University Press (PUP), due for publication in 2007, for which
she has received an advance of $6,000. PUP is US-based, with
an office in the UK. She has written other books, which are
still in print, and are published by Polity Press (UK-based)
and Thomson Southwestern (US-based), and receives small amounts
of royalties from them. Neither Dr Coyle, nor the CC, believes
that this matter will prejudice the ability of the Group to
discharge its functions in an independent and impartial manner.
