Professor Paul Geroski has also appointed Mr Christopher Smallwood,
one of the members of the CC, to the group which will be conducting this
inquiry.
Mr Smallwood was between 1983 and 1986 senior economist at BP, one of
the main parties to this inquiry.
The Commission takes the view that none of the above compromises the
ability of the Group to discharge its functions in an independent and
impartial manner.
