NOP report: Examination of the market for Store Cards
and thier use by consumers:consumer survey

In preparing its market investigation report (Store Cards,
March 2004), the OFT commissioned the market research organisation,
NOP, to conduct a consumer survey of the experiences of consumers
who had recently taken out store cards. NOP interviewed a
representative sample of around 550 consumers who had taken
out a store card in the preceding six months and summary results
of the survey were published in Annexe C of the OFT Report.
In view of the relevance of the research to its current inquiry,
the CC commissioned NOP to re-present its findings in the
form of an expanded report. The text of that report can be
