SCR-Sibelco SA/Fife Silica Sands and Fife Resources ltd (formerly
part of Anglo Pacific Group PLC):merger inquiry
You should be aware that Mr Richard Rawlinson
has drawn to the attention of the Competition Commission that the company
of which he is a Director – Monitor - has carried out some work for
Pilkington PLC in 1989 and 1991; for Owens-Illinois in Asia in 1997; and
Owens-Corning between 1993 and 1997. At no time, however, has Mr Rawlinson
himself been involved in this work. The Commission is satisfied, therefore,
that this relationship does not in any way affect the merger inquiry.
