Reed Elsevier/Harcourt general inc reference

I appointed Mr AJ Pryor as a member and the Chairman of the group of members to act in respect of this reference on 2 March 2001. Mr Pryor is now seriously ill and in hospital. As he will be unable to perform his duties for a substantial period, he has resigned as a member and the Chairman of the group.

In consequence of Mr Pryor's resignation, and in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 45 of, and paragraph 16 of Schedule 7 to, the Competition Act 1998, I appoint Mr AT Clothier, a member of the group, to act as Chairman of the group.
