AES and British Energy:Disputed License Condition inquiry

26th June 2000

Professor Martin Cave, who is a member of the Competition Commission group conducting this inquiry, has an arrangement with PricewaterhouseCoopers to act as an adviser to them on a particular assignment. This assignment is not related in any way to the electricity market.

Professor Cave has drawn to the Commission's attention that PricewaterhouseCoopers has been retained by British Energy in connection with the above CC inquiry.

The Commission is satisfied that nothing in these arrangements will influence Professor Cave’s judgement nor affect the outcome of the inquiry.
