Direct contact 0303 444 0000Planning Policy Statement 12 (PPS12) sets out the Government's policy on local spatial planning, which plays a central role in the overall task of place shaping and in the delivery of land uses and associated activities.
This replaces Planning Policy Statement 12: Local Development Framework (PPS12) published on 7 September 2004 and Creating Local Development Frameworks: A Companion guide to PPS12 published on 2 November 2004.
This also replaces Planning Policy Guidance 12: Development plans (PPG12) published on 14 December 1999.
The DCLG Plan Making Manual (external link) is an online planning resource which offers a new and responsive way to disseminating good practice examples and guidance on the local development framework regulations. The Manual will be periodically updated in response to user feedback and as best practice examples become available.
