Inspiring Communities

The Inspiring Communities programme aims to support communities to raise the aspirations and educational attainment of young people.

Initially based in 15 neighbourhoods, it will fund and support neighbourhood partnerships to deliver a programme of activities working with young people, their parents and communities, to create new opportunities, broaden horizons and build up the self-confidence of local people. Partnerships responsible for work locally will have at their core schools, councils, third sector organisations, parents and young people. Local businesses and relevant service providers are also encouraged to become involved in the Inspiring Communities initiative.

Neighbourhood partnerships are invited to apply to participate in the programme, the deadline for applications is 3 June 2009. The Inspiring Communities Grant Programme - Information Pack for Applicants (available under related downloads below) provides guidance for anyone interested in participating in this programme. Links below provide information on the Inspiring Communities reference maps which applicants will find useful to refer to in establishing whether their neighbourhood is eligible for this programme.

Inspiring Communities is a joint initiative from Communities and Local Government, the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Cabinet Office.
