Summary

An Introduction to the Local Performance Framework: Delivering Better Outcomes for Local People has been jointly produced by the Department and the Local Government Association (LGA). It provides a clear overview for all those helping to implement the new performance framework, including local area agreements (LAAs). A detailed timetable is also included.

Local area agreements need to be in place by June 2008, to cover the period 2008-2011. These LAAs need to reflect up to 35 local shared priorities, along with plans to comply with the streamlined set of 198 national indicators.

Please note: This document has been replaced by People driving change: delivering better outcomes for local communities published in June 2009 (see below).
