The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service

The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is an annual award created to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee in 2002 which rewards outstanding achievements by voluntary groups in the community.

Around 750 voluntary groups from across the UK have so far won the Award, including 95 groups in 2009 such as The Gordon Highlanders Museum (Aberdeen), Sahil Project (Coventry) and Woolfardisworthy Sports and Community Hall (North Devon).

If you know a volunteering group that is really making a difference to its community, then nomination forms are available from the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service website [external website] or by calling 020 7781 2397.
