The Guide to Government Assistance to the Third Sector (HMT 2006) aims to provide an overview of the key sources of financial support available through the Government for the third sector. More detailed information is available elsewhere as listed in the guide.
In particular, guidance on the funding relationship between government and the voluntary and community sector can be found in:
The Office of the Third Sector publishes details of grant programmes, when they are available, on the Government Funding website – funded by the OTS and managed by the Directory of Social Change. It is not a fully comprehensive site, but has information from the Cabinet Office, Department for Education and Skills, Department of Health, Home Office, Department for Communities and Local Government, and Government Offices for the Regions. We are working with other departments to increase the number of grant programmes represented on the site.
Visit the Government Funding website [External website] to find out what grants and funding are available to you.
The Directory of Social Change [External website] is an independent source of funding information for voluntary and community organisations. They publish comprehensive details of funders, including charitable trusts and foundations.
