Social Enterprise Day

Social Enterprise Day 2007 will be held on Thursday 15 November.

Social Enterprise Day is part of Enterprise Week, an annual UK–wide week of events and activities inspiring people in their teens and twenties, co–ordinated by the Social Enterprise Coalition and Enterprise Insight.

The day aims to encourage people be enterprising and to turn their ideas into something real as well as celebrate and recognise the work of current social entrepreneurs in the UK.

Social Enterprise Day also offers an opportunity for social enterprises to showcase existing successful programmes or launch new activities. Social enterprises across the UK are asked to get involved in the activities, whether it is giving a talk on social enterprise to a local school or hosting a ‘speed networking event’, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

To find out more about Enterprise Week visit the Enterprise Insight website. [External website]

You can also learn more about the Make Your Mark: Change Lives campaign, focused on inspiring young people to use enterprising ideas for social or environmental change. Trailblazers magazine outlines more about the campaign and features articles and case studies about young people involved in social enterprise.

A Trailblazers DVD, featuring five social enterprise case studies, is also available. To order a copy of this 7 minute film, please email Enterprise Insight.
