Capacitybuilders have today announced that Attend, Project North East, Skills Third Sector and Voluntary Action Sheffield will be the four organisations that will provide development programmes under Strand C of the Volunteer Management Programme.
The Volunteer Management Programme is a £3 million programme funded by the Office of the Third Sector and delivered by Capacitybuilders. The aim of the programme is to support the professional development of volunteer managers.
Under strand C individuals with volunteer management responsibilities will be able to apply for a bursary to fund one of two professional development programmes.
One of the programmes is targeted at those with operational volunteer management responsibilities. The other is aimed at those with a more strategic role in volunteer management including those in leadership positions. The programmes will be available nationally from one of the four providers.
Full details of the bursary application process will be available in March 2010 and the programmes will be launched in April 2010.
