Community Interest Companies Regulator responds to consultation

11 January 2010

The Community Interest Companies Regulator has published her response to the consultation on the dividend caps and the performance related interest cap of community interest companies (CICs)

Since its creation in 2005, the community interest company (CIC) structure has attracted social enterprises of all sizes and sectors.

On 30 March 2009, the CIC Regulator launched her consultation to seek views and evidence from organisations and individuals who had an interest in, or were likely to be affected by, a change in the general levels of the caps on dividend payments and performance-related interest paid. The consultation closed on 19 June 2009.

A summary of the responses to the consultation was published on 14 October 2009.

The CIC Regulator has now published her response to the consultation. For the CIC Regulator’s response, the impact assessment of the Regulator’s response and further information about community interest companies see the CIC Regulator’s website.
