The Prime Minister today launched 'Putting the Front Line First: smarter government' in a speech to the Institute of Government. Government will empower citizens further to obtain the services they need, help them to drive service improvement themselves and ensure that people have the necessary tools to hold government to account.
'Putting the Frontline First: smarter government' outlines plans to pilot social impact bonds as a new form of funding positive social outcomes, the smarter use of community assets at the centre of civic life and to developing a barometer of civic participation through the Civic Health Index. These examples of innovative policies will be backed up by new forms of investment.
Government will finalise the model for the world's first social investment wholesale bank, providing capital to organisations delivering social impact and ensuring the long term sustainability of the sector. Smarter Government sets out a new era of partnership between Government and the sector
