Following the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hearing on 27 April, the PAC has published its report on Building Capacity of the Third Sector.
A spokesperson from the Office of the Third Sector said:
“We thank the committee for the report and, despite the concerns, we are please to note that the committee recognises that both programmes have had a positive impact and made a real difference to the third sector.
"The Office of the Third Sector is taking significant steps with our partners that deliver the ChangeUp and Futurebuilders programmes, to continue our work in improving these services and delivering real help now for communities and the third sector. These are important programmes that have made a significant improvement to the third sector’s ability to deliver public services and empower local people to work together for the benefit of their community.
"Third sector organisations have been driving social change and transforming the lives of the most disadvantaged people for centuries. No one disputes that and it is a record worth investing in. We will continue to support the growing number of third sector organisations who want to play an active role in delivering public services.”
The OTS will consider the report and, in accordance with parliamentary processes, will formally respond at a later date.
