Fourteen of the most senior civil servants from across Government joined third sector leaders on 26th September for an Away Day, hosted by the Cabinet Secretary, Sir Gus O’Donnell.
Organised by the Office of the Third Sector and the Association of Chief Executive Organisations (acevo), the event focused on how both Government and the third sector work together more effectively in order to improve public service outcomes.
Campbell Robb, Director General of the OTS, said:
“It was fantastic to bring together Permanent Secretaries and Director Generals from across Government with some of the third sector’s most energised and focused leaders. The discussion today has demonstrated a real commitment from all parties to work together in order to drive forward better public service outcomes.”
Peter Housden, Permanent Secretary of Communities and Local Government said:
“This was an absolutely excellent event and a tremendous production from OTS."
The Away Day was held at Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre on the South Bank and participants arrived at the venue on a coach, provided by the social enterprise, Hackney Community Transport.
Speakers at the event included Clare Tickell from Action for Children, Tony Hawkhead from Groundwork and Peter Housden, Permanent Secretary of Communities and Local Government.
