OTS now recruiting for new advisory body

20th February 2008

The Office of the Third Sector is looking to appoint a chair and up to 12 members to form a new advisory body.

The new OTS Advisory Body will be set up as an advisory non-departmental public body (NDPB) and will replace the three advisory structures currently operating, which will cease in March 2008.

The primary purpose of the body will be to provide advice to Ministers and the OTS in overseeing the implementation of the third sector review commitments and priorities, as well as an element of horizon-scanning to pick up trends and advise Ministers. The new OTS Advisory Body will also work with the OTS strategic partners, who provide ‘voice’ of the sector into government.

Appointments will be made by the Minister for the Third Sector and candidates will be selected in line with the Office of the Commission for Public Appointments (OCPA) Code of Practice for Ministerial Appointments to Public Bodies.

Applications are invited from individuals to be either the chair or a member of the body.

Deadlines for applications:

The body will be set in up in April 2008 and the first meeting will be in May.
