The Office of the Third Sector is pleased to announce that the post of Commissioner for the Compact has been advertised. Independent of government and the third sector, the Commission for the Compact oversees the relationship between government and the voluntary and community sector and is instrumental in strengthening partnership working between these sectors.
The appointment will be made by the Minister for the Third Sector. The Commissioner will lead the Commission in promoting the Compact and good practice, demonstrating its benefits across government and the voluntary and community sectors to achieve strong and effective working partnerships.
The successful applicant will need to build effective partnerships with, and represent the Commission to, the public, voluntary and community sectors, the Government, media, and other stakeholders as well as secure high standards of governance and maintain the Commission's independence and transparency.
