The Office of the Third Sector wants your views on how it can improve its advisory structures. Your comments will inform the workings of an eventual new advisory group, which will be set up in April 2008.
Following commitments in the third sector review, we are looking to strengthen and rationalise our existing advisory structure.
There are currently a wide range of voices advising ministers on third sector policy. These include advisory groups such as the Voluntary and Community Advisory Group, the Futurebuilders Advisory Panel, the Infrastructure National Partnership and the third sector review advisory group. The Office of the Third Sector also has 45 strategic partners, who influence policy at a national level.
Our aim is to create a single strengthened and streamlined body in order to ensure an effective and coherent advisory structure.
The new advisory structure will be established through a transparent appointments process. We asked for views on the purpose and structure of the advisory body in a questionnaire published on the site on 4 October 2007. The deadline for responding to the questionnaire is now closed. We would like to thank those who took part. We are currently collating the responses.
