Tender opens for work to support creation of new third sector research centre

The Office of the Third Sector is seeking to appoint a project consultant to support the development of a new Third Sector Research Centre. The project consultant will be asked to prepare a report scoping out aspects of the centre's structure and operation.

The Government announced that it was creating the new, independent third sector research centre in the third sector review in July. The centre is to be taken forward with partners, including the Economic and Social Research Council.

The centre will enhance the profile and availability of research into the third sector, and draw on a range of disciplines. It will collect and analyse evidence about the scale and scope of the sector, and assess the sector's impact and effectiveness.

We are looking for an experienced project consultant to supply up to 30 days’ consultancy on a day rate basis to help with the process of scoping the centre and providing further assistance.

The primary role of the consultant will be to prepare a scoping report to refine our understanding of specific aspects of the centre, ahead of a commissioning process for the centre itself.

The deadline for the submission of tenders is noon on Friday 12 October 2007. The contract will be awarded in the week beginning 22 October 2007.

For more information on the tender, please contact Mark Johnson at the Office of the Third Sector.
