Campbell Robb appointed new Director of the Office of the Third Sector

The Prime Minister has approved the appointment of Campbell Robb to be Director General, Office of the Third Sector in the Cabinet Office.

Campbell Robb will be responsible for driving the Government's strategic approach to enhance and enable a thriving third sector. Working to ministers in the Cabinet Office, Campbell's role will include:

• coordinating work on cross–government delivery programmes to help develop an effective third sector;
• working with third sector organisations to help the Government develop sustainable and prosperous communities;
• drawing on the strengths of the third sector in helping improve public services;
• taking forward the Government's agenda on encouraging the growth of social enterprise.

Campbell – currently Director of Public Policy at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) – will work to Hilary Armstrong, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and Ed Miliband, Minister for the Third Sector, in the Cabinet Office.
