Innovation Exchange

Innovation Exchange smallThe Innovation Exchange project was set up by the Office of the Third Sector in 2007 and provides third sector innovators with access to the people and potential capital they need to become more involved in public services.

The Exchange offers innovators online resources including information, contact with other innovators and contact with appropriate sources of investment.

Chaired by Julia Unwin, CEO of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, the Innovation Exchange’s initial priority areas are:

In November 2008, the Innovation Exchange launched a portfolio of projects that form its Next Practice Programme. These projects receive a share of the Exchange’s £200k NESTA Innovation Fund and a combination of bespoke and generic support.

In June 2009, the Innovation Exchange lauched, Growing Innovation from the Third Sector [PDF], which introduces the 15 innovation projects that form the Next Practice Programme and outlines what they aims to achieve through working with the Exchange
