The operation and development of the Compact is reviewed every year at a meeting between ministers, local government and the sector, represented by the Compact Voice, at which a joint action plan is agreed and a report is written up. The seventh annual review meeting took place on 22 November 2006.
The meeting highlighted the opportunity to make significant steps forward in the implementation of the Compact, and the need to ensure the Compact principles become fully embedded in the culture of central and local government bodies and voluntary and community organisations. The seventh annual meeting report contains the action plan agreed at the meeting, and partners will be held to account at the next annual meeting.
