Communities and Local Government strategy for the third sector

The Department for Communities and Local Government consulted on its strategic vision for the third sector.

Its discussion paper, ‘Third Sector Strategy for Communities and Local Government’, published in June 2007, contains proposals for improving the department's engagement with the third sector, as well as questions for its stakeholders on the way ahead.

The department helps to support a thriving third sector, but believes there could be improvements to the way in which it works with third sector organisations and its partners in local government to promote social and economic regeneration.

The discussion paper contains proposals for improving cooperation between different agencies and asks a number of questions for refining its strategy.
