MINISTERIAL COMMITTEE ON DEFENCE AND OVERSEAS POLICY

SUB-COMMITTEE ON PROTECTIVE SECURITY AND RESILIENCE (DOP(IT)(PSR))

COMPOSITION

The Deputy Prime Minister and First Secretary of State also has the right to attend.

The Security and Intelligence Co-ordinator, the Director General of the Security Service and the President of the Association of Chief Police Officers will attend as required. Other Ministers and the heads of the other Intelligence Agencies will be invited to attend as necessary. The leaders of the Devolved Administrations will normally attend for discussions on resilience issues.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

'a. to keep under review the 'Protect' and 'Prepare' elements of the Government's long term counter-terrorism strategy (CONTEST), including:

(i) policy on protective and other security measures to counter the threat of terrorism in the United Kingdom and to British interests overseas; and

(ii) policy for managing the consequences of major terrorist or other disruptive incidents in the United Kingdom.

b. to report to the Sub-Committee on International Terrorism as appropriate.'
