Reducing Administrative Burdens: Implementation. What next?

The Government announced on 15 September 2005 that the measurement exercise had commenced. See the frequently asked questions for further information about the three phases.

The measurement exercise is currently in the vital survey phase. PricewaterhouseCoopers are approaching businesses, charities and voluntary organisations and asking them to participate in interviews to identify the administrative cost placed on them by regulation.

Departments are identifying existing initiatives for inclusion in draft simplifications plans that will lead to cuts in admin burden reductions. Initial plans for: Defra, DTI and HSE were published last November.
