The Better Regulation Executive Public Sector Team worked closely with the five key delivery areas within the public sector (health, education, criminal justice, local government and transport) to understand and minimise unnecessary bureaucracy, or 'red-tape' that prevents front-line staff from carrying out their core duties.
MaD projects were about making a real difference to the work if front-line public sector staff. These projects varied in size, from extensive projects involving several departments within the five key delivery areas, to smaller and more specific projects. MaD projects delivered reports outlining specific and time-driven measures to address the areas raised by front-line staff.

The Concordat approach aims to provide clear and transparent framework that partner organisations can use to govern their interactions in specified ways. To date, they have been used to establish the principles of conduct, expectations and outcomes of inspections.
