Contract terms and conditions

Cabinet Office normally contracts with its suppliers on its standard terms and conditions except where different terms and conditions have been previously agreed.  These exceptions include:

• other government terms and conditions such as those applying to ICT and works contracts;
• contracts placed under pre-existing framework agreements, including frameworks set up by other government organisations; and
• contracts for large scale, complex requirements.

The standard terms and conditions apply to all purchase orders unless alternative terms and conditions are specified. There are three versions covering:

• Consultancy
• All other services
• Goods

The standard terms and conditions will be subject to revision.

Cabinet Office Innovation Procurement Plan

The Innovation Procurement Plan provides the Cabinet Office response to the White Paper “Innovation Nation” published by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills in March 2008 that recommended that all government departments establish plans. The Plan forms part of our commercial strategy and outlines the Department’s approach to ensuring that innovation is integral to our procurement policies and processes.
