As a key delivery mechanism of the Cabinet Office, and a central recommendation of the Varney Report, the Contact Council has oversight of all customer contact in the public sector. Irrelevant of how citizens and businesses contact and engage with the public sector, be it by phone, website, e-mail or face-to-face, they should expect high levels of customer service and value for money.
