The 2009 Fast Stream Annual Report, which was published today, shows an increase in the number of disabled and ethnic minority graduates applying to the scheme.
The Fast Stream is a graduate recruitment scheme for people who have the potential to become the future leaders of the Civil Service, offering the opportunity to help tackle some of the biggest issues facing the country today, such as obesity and global warming.
The Fast Stream, which consistently comes in the top five of The Times 100 graduate employers, accepts only a small number of the brightest graduates each year.

Earlier this week the Government announced that there will be an immediate freeze to Civil Service recruitment. However this will not affect the Fast Stream and the process is already in train for 2010-11. It is important that the Civil Service continues to employ the best possible graduates who have the potential to reach the most senior roles.
