Ministerial e–Government Conference

G–Mex/MICC, Manchester, 24–25 November 2005

The e–Government Unit of the Cabinet Office and the European Commission will host a major conference, ‘Transforming Public Services’, in Manchester on 24-25 November this year.

This UK Presidency conference has been described by the European Commission as ‘the most important e-Government event in 2005’.

The conference will focus on four major themes:

Ian Watmore, Head of the Cabinet Office e–Government Unit, said:

‘This conference is focused on the future of the sharp end of ‘Citizen Centred’ government. By that we don't just mean convenient and easy to use web services. We also mean the joining up and transformation of services to deliver tangible benefits for individual citizens, businesses and wider society.

“Transforming Public Services” is the best opportunity yet to share learning and experiences with administrations and other e–Government stakeholders across Europe’

In addition to bringing together ministers and officials from across Europe, leading industry CEOs, senior practitioners, partners and suppliers from the private sector, the conference will recognise excellence through the announcement of the eEurope Awards.

The conference will be held in Manchester's G–Mex/MICC on 24–25 November.
