Description: The document and schemas describe the technical interface specifications for the Rent Service Electronic Interface System (EIS) application software. The latest set is Version 3.7(previous versions are also available for information). The reason for the latest changes is new legislation. The core legislative change is that benefit periods for housing benefit are abolished. This removes the need for most parts of the 12 month check. Since changes were being made, the opportunity has also been taken to correct a number of minor errors within the schemas. Version 3.7 of the schemas have recently been available for consultation along with The Rent Service Electronic Fair Rent Schemas and The Rent Service Market Evidence Schema.
