Description: The SDEP (Street events Data Exchange Protocol) comprises an XML data schema and web service WSDL for exchanging streetworks and street events data between systems.
Jacobs Babtie were funded by the NeSDS Government e-Standards Programme to conduct a consultation and convene meetings to define the requirements of a common data exchange protocol for streetworks registers and other systems handling road events data. Such a protocol is needed in order to support e-Government Priority Outcome G14 and the forthcoming requirements of the Traffic Management Act.
This work is now complete and the SDEP project group have agreed the attached schema following eight meetings over the period September 2005 through January 2006. The group comprised Jacobs Babtie (Chair), Mayrise Ltd., Symology Ltd., MapInfo Business Applications Ltd. (Southbank Systems), Exor Corporation, Northamptonshire County Council. (representing the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) and Transport for London, with the Highways Agency and National Traffic Control Centre in an observing capacity.
The period of consultation for this schema was set at 6 weeks, the closing date was 22nd March 2006.
