Description: These XML schemas have been developed as an initial step towards the development of an on-line, electronic interface which will accelerate the current process of electronic transfer of housing benefit claim data mismatch information from the DWP Housing Benefit Matching Service (HBMS) to Local Authority systems. Currently the referral of data is made by the provision of a data file from the HBMS to each local authority which can, if systems are available, be imported and presented to the local authority staff to reconcile, assess any mismatches and take action with regard to the payment of the benefit claims if required. The consultation period for these schemas ended on Tuesday, 10th August.
