Percentage

Description A percentage (e.g. for VAT or discounts) defined as a proportion or rate per hundred parts.
Business Format The usual format will be NNN.DD where N = digits before decimal point and D = digits after decimal point. A negative percentage is preceded by a minus sign, e.g. -17.5. A positive percentage can be preceded by a plus sign. e.g. +25.0 If this sign is missing then the percentage will be assumed to be positive. Some business uses need up to 16 decimal places. NNN.DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. This will be an allowable format. 3 digits will be allowed before the decimal point.
