Who Should Attend: This course is aimed at those within Category One and Two responders, both public and private sector, who have a responsibility for risk management and its relationship with the wider civil protection duties as defined under the Civil Contingencies Act. No prior knowledge of risk management is required.
Aim: To provide participants with a firm understanding of risk management in a civil protection context, covering the statutory duty, multi-agency collaboration, risk registers, control measures and communication strategies.
Objectives: By the end of the course you will be able to:
Pre-Requisites: Delegates will usually have attended the Introduction to Civil Protection (ICP) course for a foundation in the Civil Contingencies Act and Integrated Emergency Management. However, delegates with appropriate experience should consult the attendance policy for information on exemption from ICP.
Progress: For senior staff involved with risk management at a corporate level ‘Strategic Risk Management’ would be appropriate to take forward key themes.
