All those who attend Safety Advisory Groups whether on a core, non-core or invited basis.

Aim

To examine the challenges involved in working in Safety Advisory Groups.

Objectives

By the end of this event you will be able to:

Write the terms of reference for a Safety Advisory Group
Describe the roles of members of a Safety Advisory Group
Explain the legislation and guidance on licensing and safety certification
Apply guidance on safety certification and determine safe capacities.

Pre-Requisites

You may benefit from attendance on Introduction to Crowd and Event Safety Management before attending this course. This requirement may be waived if you consider yourself to have relevant professional experience to progress directly to this course. In such a case you will benefit from the completion of an ‘on-line’ pre attendance module covering background material prior to arrival for your course.

Progression

For those with duties in connection with sports grounds and events, the course Public Safety at Sports Grounds and Events is of potential interest. Public Safety at Festivals and Mass Gatherings will similarly be of potential interest to those with roles related to open air events and mass gatherings. The Crowd Dynamics Workshop is applicable to all with responsibilities for the planning and management of crowd situations and events.
