This course is aimed at those within Category 1 and 2 responders, both public and private sector, who have a responsibility for risk management and its relationship with the wider civil protection duties as defined under the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).

To examine risk management in civil protection.

Pre-Requisites  

We would normally expect participants on this course to have completed the Introduction to Civil Protection course.

Please note: no prior knowledge of risk management is required for this course. This course does not cover issues around risk communication in depth as these are explored in detail in our 'Communicating with the Public: Warning and Informing' course.
