Course Title : Public Safety in Complex and Built Environments

Those with responsibility for managing public safety in these environments, which include shopping and city centre complexes, transport hubs, ports and stations, mass transit systems and stadia. It will suit the needs of anyone responsible for co-ordinating and integrating the safety initiatives and practices of diverse groups of stakeholders, to achieve coherent overall safety policies in environments that attract large numbers of people as part of their normal operations.

 

Aim

To examine issues relating to safety management in complex and built environments.

Objectives

By the end of this event you will be able to:

 

Pre-Requisites

You may benefit from attendance on Introduction to Crowd and Event Safety Management before attending this course. This requirement may be waived if you consider yourself to have relevant professional experience to progress directly to this course. In such a case you will benefit from the completion of an ‘on-line’ pre attendance module covering background material prior to arrival for your course.

 

Progression

For those with duties in connection with sports grounds and events, the course Public Safety at Sports Grounds and Events is of potential interest. Public Safety at Festivals and Mass Gatherings will similarly be of potential interest to those with roles related to open air events and mass gatherings. The Crowd Dynamics Workshop is applicable to all with responsibilities for the planning and management of crowd situations and events.
